Mopcare
Digital health platform for seniors: care, volunteers and learning in one system.
Elderly care programmes run on spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups: no reliable way to dispatch caregivers, certify volunteers, or give diaspora families visibility into how a parent is doing.
Direct backend development and technical leadership on a digital health platform serving close to 2,000 elderly patients. Owns the Go microservices, the volunteer management system with automated certificate generation, the accredited healthcare LMS, and the React portals for clients, caregivers and institutions. Migrated legacy services from Rust to Go for maintainability, and mentors the engineers on the team.
Go microservices behind an API gateway with PostgreSQL and Redis caching for real-time task notifications and caregiver check-ins. Role-based access control isolates health data per role. React + TypeScript portals (Zustand, TanStack Query, Tailwind, shadcn/ui). Terraform-provisioned AWS, Docker, and CI/CD through GitHub Actions.
Stateful task scheduling assigns caregivers with conflict resolution so one person is never double-booked. Certificates are generated with verifiable identifiers so a volunteer's accreditation can be checked by anyone.
Go for a small, predictable backend that a small team can maintain, which is why the earlier Rust services were migrated; Redis for the low-latency notification path; RBAC because health data must be isolated per role by construction.
A single API gateway unifying five role-based dashboards, so families abroad, caregivers and institutions all see one consistent picture of a senior's care.
Care coordination for seniors across Nigeria and the diaspora.
