Renting in emerging markets means agent extortion, fabricated listings, spoofed locations and paper leases nobody can audit. A trusted marketplace needs ground-truth verification, controlled physical access to properties, and money that moves only when the legal steps have actually happened.
Led the engineering team and built the platform: 12 Go microservices behind an API gateway covering auth, marketplace, property, search, geo, payments, legal agreements, uploads, referrals, users and blog. Scouts physically verify every property; keys stay in Dwelix custody with every entry logged; lawyers verify ownership and agreements are e-signed through Documenso; rent and deposits move through audited escrow.
12 Go (Fiber) services, each independently containerised on GCP Cloud Run, talking gRPC with GCP Pub/Sub event streams for state transitions. 137 versioned PostgreSQL migrations, Redis caching, Cloudflare at the edge, Terraform-provisioned dev/staging/production, Cloud Build CI/CD and Sentry observability. A React + TypeScript frontend of 127 pages and 376 components serves role-based dashboards for tenants, landlords, scouts, agents, lawyers and admins.
Geospatial bounding-box indexing flags coordinates that don't match a claimed address. Lease execution runs inside atomic database transactions paired with cryptographic document hashing, so a signed agreement and its escrow state can never disagree. Paystack callbacks drive a webhook reconciliation flow that flags mismatches automatically.
Go and Fiber give small memory footprints and predictable latency during search spikes; gRPC keeps service contracts typed; Pub/Sub decouples property state changes from everything that reacts to them; Cloud Run lets each service scale to zero independently.
Joining the physical and legal worlds in one pipeline: ground scouts, custodied keys, lawyer-verified ownership and e-signed leases feed an escrow that only releases when each real-world step is recorded.
